Paris, France, September 11, 2009 - Trinnov Audio today announced the SmartMeter, an integrated multi-meter and monitor controller.
Trinnov's SmartMeter is designed to meet the requirements of broadcasters and post-production studios: it offers a comprehensive set of features for metering multiple stereo and surround audio sources. Furthermore, the SmartMeter is easy to integrate into the production environment via the GPIO interface and the ability to customize the software.
The SmartMeter is both a multi-meter and a monitor controller: via a touchscreen-based, easy to use interface, the user has access to all the functionality. The main features are: Loudness Meter, Peak Program Meters (PPM), Quasi-Peak meters, Spatial Analyzer and Timeline. The monitor controller offers solo, mute, source selection, volume control and downmix.
The SmartMeter is based on the Trinnov Processor, which offers up to 10 analog i/o, 12 adat i/o, 16 AES i/o or 24 MADI i/o.
The SmartMeter is planned for availability on October 15, 2009. Trinnov distribution partners will be pleased to make a personalized demo in your studio.

Producers and sound engineers can achieve better and more translatable mixes from their stereo control rooms
Paris, France, March 6, 2009 - Trinnov Audio today introduced Optimizer ST, a stereo loudspeaker processor featuring exclusive Trinnov digital room correction technology.
This new loudspeaker processor can be used to optimize the monitor's behaviour in any room in order to achieve accurate sound reproduction, and consistent mixes from one room to another. Optimizer ST will be showcased at this year's Musikmesse in hall 5.1 stand D58.
Optimizer ST uses exactly the same "digital acoustics engine" that has established Trinnov's reputation as helping sound engineers to achieve translatable mixes in 5.1 control rooms and post-production theatres around europe. It combines automatic and manual room qualization with impulse response acoustic measurements and cutting-edge time-frequency analysis.
The Optimizer ST not only offers unique room EQ features such as target curves and automatic phase optimization. It includes all the functionality that you expect from a loudspeaker processor, such as delays, gains, crossovers and manual EQs (graphic and parametric)
For 2-way and 3-way systems the Optimizer's automatic crossover alignement functionality ensures unmatched sound performance while dramatically reducing the effort required to setup gains and delays on each way. The integrated Bass Management automatically adjusts delays on each satellite to ensure optimal overlapping with the subwoofer. Last but not least, a best-of-breed monitor controller can be built by connecting third party volume knobs and/or touch-screens to the Optimizer ST.
"We are happy to extend our market reach with this new stereo Optimizer that builds on the success of his multichannel older brother," says sales & marketing director Felipe Avila-Reyes. "Thanks to the latest Intel Atom chips we are able to offer a loudspeaker processor that is miles ahead of the competition and at a very competitive price. Demanding producers and engineers in broadcast, post-production facilities will greatly benefit from the confidence that Optimizer ST brings to their daily work. But we also believe that serious audiophiles will value the accurate tonal balance and soundstage achieved by the Optimizer ST. After all, this is all about achieving top quality mixes from the production room to the consumer's living room."
Technical specifications in brief: 2 balanced analog in/out via XLR + optional 4 balanced analog out via TRS jacks 2 AES/EBU in/out via XLR 2 ADAT in/out via toslink 2 SPDIF in/out via coaxial or optical 2 processing channels 96kHz, 64-bit floating point processing supports 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz and 96kHz sampling requencies user interface is fully accessible from a connected monitor or from a VNC client (PC or Mac) through the network. silent 1.2U frame with external power supply.
Pricing and availability: Optimizer ST will start shipping on April 3, 2009 with an introductory MRSP of 2950 Euros ex VAT. Trinnov distribution partners will be pleased to make a personalized demo in your studio.

Trinnov's Optimizer 2.0 now ready for the dubbing theatre
Saturday, 17 May 2008
Amsterdam, May 17, 2008 - Trinnov Audio has added a set of exciting new features that broaden the field of application of their flagship room correction product to dubbing theatres, where sound mixing for movies is performed.
"Building on our experience at Fox Studios in Hollywood, Trinnov's R&D has come up with new features specifically targeted at dubbing theatres", says Arnaud Laborie, CEO of Trinnov Audio. Thanks to this new Target Curves functionality, a calibration of the sound system can be performed in less than an hour, and will provide unprecedented sound quality.
Instead of relying on multiple boxes for the measurement, analysis and equalization, the Optimizer offers all those features in one box. This not only is more cost-effective: it automates the otherwise cumbersome trial-and-error calibration process. The Optimizer automatically computes the filters that will meet the cinema X-Curve. Once the system is inserted in the monitoring path, it only takes a few minutes to perform the measurements, compute the filters and save them in a memory preset.
"After many successful installations in broadcast control rooms around Europe, we are now making this state-of-the-art technology available to the film industry", adds Arnaud Laborie.
Sound Designers and Re-recording Mixers will immediately benefit from the improvements brought by the Optimizer: as the resolution of the soundstage increases, every mixing task will be performed with greater accuracy. "The bottom line is that, at the end of the day, they will have achieved a better sound for their picture" he concludes.
